Title: PS-2 to M1 line in versus mic in
Post by: prof_peabody on September 16, 2006, 02:09:47 AM
I've really enjoyed the switch to phantom power, but I find the mod PS-2 (1/8" output) can be too quiet for line in on my M1.  I known people are using transformers with their PS-2 to boost levels, obviously this is not an option for me.  Will I notice any degradation by going mic in on the M1?  People have mentioned it in a few threads, but I don' see any firm answers.

why is this not an option for you?
you just need a cable that is stere mini female to xlr male and then another xlr female to stereo mini male.
just a cable away...
lmk if you need one, and i can build you some silvers.

but the advise is free.
:)

Thanks for the offer.  I may take you up on this. +T
My main problem right now is that most of the venues I go to do thorough wandings... (Welcome to Texas, terror could strike a show at any time  ) I'm not really interested in bringing more metal in.  The PS-2 is pushing it right now, but the sound improvement over a 2 wire B-box is massive.
