does this thing "rock" or what?
its pretty much the dream recorder for 16bit "bit bucket" features.
just got one last week. Stealthed chicago w/it on thursday night. love this little sucker.
still miss my r9, but this thing actualy will work better for me as it can be a beater deck as well as my jukebox for the car.

What's up Nick, +T. I just rockboxed my h120 today and did some home stereo testing. I'm looking forward to taking this unit out into the field.
I'd like to thank whatboutbob for his work on the beta FAQ and all of the insightful people in the Team thread (to many to list).

I love mine. It makes me wonder how I ever put up with the JB3.

me and my h140 are best friends. my m1 is getting jelous because we never go out togethor anymore. i just wish the h-series could do 48k.

Yep... When I had mine I really loved it... however, the 16,44.1 was a limitation I could not put up with. Luckily I got my 120s when they were going cheep on ebay. Was able to sell 2 of them for enough to pick up a r9 + 4 gig card. I figured it was a good trade off since I would only use it for stealth and would be using my r4 for any open taping. If there was any possibility of 24bit recording in the future I would have kept mine. Anyway.. Great build quiality and size... Just did not meet my needs.

I guess I'm *the* h120 fluffer around these parts so...so I guess it goes without saying that I'm a big fan. ;)
The unit can theoretically record up to 20 bits (with a major re-jig of the f/w)...I wonder if that would be a big enough improvement over 16bits to warrant the effort required to make it happen? Given that most external pre/adcs send 24 bits, would the truncation(?) to 20 bits cause more probs than any potential improvement?

Prob its time to wait a while to see if the developers are willing to hack into another player
with a more advanced ADC down the road... The iRiver effort has been a long one.... as with
most open source devmt.

It can do 48K and higher with digital in. You probably already know that. Just clarifying for those who don't know much about the h1xx series.

I ran w/it again last night for panic at rcmh. freakin' thing was great.

I don't know why I didn't jump on one of these when they were $150 BIN all over Fleabay. Most go for $200ish now. I think that I am ready to dump the JB3.

not so.
picked one up on ebay for under 120 just the other day.
look for the private auctions.

...and ihp-120s...
edit: not sure if this'll work...but try this:
