Title: Mirage Omnisat v2?
Post by: dmonterisi on September 21, 2006, 10:45:41 AM
Anyone own/heard these speakers?  A friend of mine has a very small space to fit speakers next to his television...these look interesting and are in his price range (<$600).  plus, the "omnidirectional" character of these would be good for his living room since his wife will not let him center their entertainment unit in the room so it's kind of off-center and at an angle to the viewing area with the tv swiveled in.

edit: here's a link to the mirage page:

i've seen some fairly favorable reviews of these little speakers.

Midrange to high end freq response looks kinda ragged:

But I guess this performance needs to be considered also with the context of his room constraints.

For small speakers I always thought the B&W LM1 looked pretty cool: http://www.bwspeakers.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/products.ranges/label/Range%20Monitors

these are listed as 75Hz - 20kHz ± 3dB on reference axis .

as do the mini Gallo speakers: http://www.roundsound.com/satellite-speakers.htm

Just some other speakers to consider...

that's actually the FS model which is the floor-standing version.  i'll check that site though for info on the regular ones.  thanks.

Gotcha, I would guess the response above 500Hz would be pretty similar though, the fundamental driver technology covering those frequencies is basically the same (isn't it?)
