Title: CDWav issues with win xp?
Post by: paullySC on September 21, 2006, 08:02:49 PM
Howdy,
Anyone ever have issues with CDWAV on win xp? I use it to transfer DAT > PC but on my new system that I built the soundwave is just a giant green block. What other software do you guys use to transfer (free software)? I'm hoping its not my soundcard (dio 24/48) because now that I'm solid state I can't justify buying a new one. Any ideas? Thanks.

Uh, does the dio 24/48 work with XP. I seem to recall that it did not. I may be thinking of another soundcard though.

I just loaded CD Wav on my new XP machine this past week, used it to track out 5 shows without problem. I don't think your problem is with CD Wav.

I'm hoping that's not the case. But I think it may be.

Are selecting the correct input source when you record in CDWav? Is your soundcard presented as a device option in the record popup?

You also may want to set up the defaults in the XP Sounds control panel.

I've been using CDWav with XP and the AP2496 for at least 1.5 years with no problems once I got everything set up.

I'm using the correct input source and the car is in the option box. I'll try setting the defaults.

Yeah playback is fine of other waves. It's just the recording via input.

That's what I plan on doing. Haven't used audacity much, didin't realize I could do the transfer.
