I just wanted to make a quick post to say WOW! I picked these speakers up about a month ago off of eBay brandnew for about $500 (a steal!). I've only been using the speakers for about a week now, when I first started listening to them I was quite pleased with their overall sound, but they weren't exactly what I had expected; the sound wasn't as big and deep as i had expected. Fastforward to about a week later, after about 30 - 40 hours of play I could swear they're different speakers! I've been listening all day at a decent volume and I'm just blown away at how deep and rich my music now sounds, the soundstage is HUGE and the bass is soo crisp and clearly defined!! I still can't believe how much better these sound after only a week. A BIG thankyou anyone who has suggested these to me.
for the record, i'm running a denon 1920 > m902 > psaudio hca-2 > vr1's
--F 8)
I loved my HCA-2 > VR1 combo! Those two things seemed to be made for each other.
nice!
i'm going to try some of these out to see how they compare to the monitors i'm currently running (Epos M12.2).
Jason...
interested in a trade for a month?

I'd go for it if you want to drive down to Boston :)
the VR-1's kick ass. I've been very happy with them, and have no plans to switch to anything else (at least while I'm living in this apartment)
yea?
I might be good w/that. I'll be coming down to Berkeley for the DTB/Tedeschi bill in Oct. Maybe we can hook up and make a swap.
Don't just stop there: how about a listening session? I'll bring my Mytek DAC to the party if someone has XLR>RCA cables or has an amp with XLR in.
I always offer up my place for a listeing party, I have my own listening room over the garage. I am an hour north of Boston in NH.

it's definitely about time we do another listening party up north :)
for me, though, it'll have to wait until mid November at least, due to my upcoming wedding and honeymoon :)
but after that, I'm all for it. I'd be interested in hearing the mytek DAC vs. the grace 901...
screw up north. make it near nyc :)
