Hi!
Im using Iriver H120 for record. since there only line in I bought the denecke AD20 to provide some more gain and to get a decent AD but in some situations I still doesnt succed to get enough gain. I have tried it with AKG C1000S and a Shure SM58.
So does anyone know any high sensitivity mics that have better sensitivity than AKG C1000S and a Shure SM58
There sensitivity are:
AKG C1000S: 6 mV/pa (-45dBV)
Shure SM58: –54.5 dBV/Pa (1.85 mV)
Any thoughts?
I havnt got any phantom power so it need to be batterypowered
my maximum budget is around $100-150
Thanks

Here is my rig and I am getting great results...
Mics-- SP-CMC-2 ($159.00 from Soundprofessionals)
Battery Box-- SP-SPSB-1 w/dual levels & bass roll-off ($99.00 from Soundprofessionals)
I realize this totals more than your $150.00 budget- you can get the Battery Box w/o levels and roll-off for $59.00 and that will get you closer. I suggest using a battery box with the mics though- you will get much better range. I don't think the iRiver will provide enough power- just my 2 cents.

Ya need phantom power to your mics!!! PS-2>AD-20 combo.

hi!
have been looking on that one as well but rather not carry around any more equipment. the Iriver h120 and Denecke ad20 is enough.
have been looking some on condensermics but the problem is the phantompower. do anyone know a very portable way of provide phantompower through battery. more portable than the PS-2
have been looking on something thats called phantomadapter. does this provide phantompower or what is a phantomadapter?
thanks
