+matrix is an audio unit plugin - works for me w/ Audacity 1.3.0b.

I've gone back to duplicating the side track, inverting it and then mixing till it sounds good.  Then either mix and render or export as wav.

well, i expanded it in the plugins folder, and i do not see it in the effects menu...

what do i need to do to get it to work in audacity..? am i missing a wrapper or something..? (i have the vst enabler already in the plugin folder, too)...

+t

ok, so the plugins have to be in the library>audio>plugins>vst directory, not the audacity>plugins folder

could you be a touch more specific as to the steps involved in doing this..?

also are you using the audacity triangular dither when going 24/48/96/etc > 16/44.1 ..?

+t for all of the help - i really appreciate it.

ok, i think i have it...

import the stereo 2 channel WAV file i recorded

then import it again...

split the stereo tracks, and set the channels - the first one could be the left, so set teh top two channels as left, then set the bottom two channels as right. then select and invert the side channel of the side where the rear of the fig 8 was pointed...

then in playback, you can adjust the gains of the mids and or sides

when satisfied, export as WAV

 ;D

found the thread after I got off the phone with you, definately simple process once you understand what actually needs to be done. didn't mess too much with the stereo image width, gonna mess with it some more tonight before the show.

Mac for our issue, could we also just invert the side channel then decode with a plugin?

trying to find anything possible to avoid fucking audacity

im just trying to get a grasp of what we need to do to properly correct the issue. the only reason of opening up the stereo trakcs twice is to manually mix them down correct?
