Title: Reducing Pic (data) Size in Adobe 3.0?
Post by: grider on October 02, 2006, 11:43:49 AM
the Adobe site says this feature comes with the standard 3.0 version, in its comparison of 3.0 with version 4.0, but I can't seem to reduce the data size of the pics so I can post them here with version 3.0, anyone know how to do so?  I have some nice pics of Friday's Tortoise show and rigs there but they are too large to post here, thanks in advance

Looking forward to seeing the pics, Chris.  I can't help with Adobe, but freeware IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/) will do the job easily if you get stuck.

this program does not reduce pic size to at or below the pic size limit here on ts.com, unfortunately

The app is definitely capable of doing it, just depends on the options used.  You should have lots of flexibility in achieving a < 512k file size.  For TS, I'll typically shrink it down to a 640x480 or 800x600, Save As, select JPEG, tick the Show Options Dialog box, and set the Save Quality to ~90%.  Usually gets me down in the 50-200ks.
