http://www.wentnet.com/projects/xnjb/
you MUST use usb with mac too
-
heres a second vote for XNJB. usb is a bummer but it's worth it. nice little program.
-
I think XNJB is your only option for the Mac. It's USB 1 speed, but it still works!
-
What they all said^^^^^^^ XNJB. I just wish it accessed the Firewire bus :-\
-
any other harddrive recorders that you would recommend to work with ua5?
-
microtrack and jb3 work fine for me outoff the ua5
mt i have no probs getting ubs2 speeds, 7 mins for a 2.5hr show
no drivers or anything needed, just plug and it shows up as a external drive

downloaded the binary copy and the source... figured i could drag the icon into the HD like the other programs i have downloaded do. doesnt do that though. saves the downloaded file, i click it and it uncarchives xjb3 -1.3.3. gives me a folder with the same name and 129 items within the folder. clicked the text file that says install, tells me to drag the xjb3 icon into apps folder and double click to install. i dragged the .tar, i don't see any other icons that give the impression they would be the correct one. the .tar puts another folder in the apps with the same 129 items in it.
i guess i am missing something here, anyone know what im missing?

sax
i just tested it 1.3.3
you are right, it doesn't work
try the old version--thats what i have used and it works fine
-
just tested it here as well and 1.3.3 worked just fine for me. Downloaded the source dmg file. Unarchived the .gz and it created the .dmg which greated the XNJB icon on my desktop. Click on that and it opens up to the icon that you drag into your applications. Im running OSX 10.3.9
-
i'm gettin to image on the desktop. i'll go for the older version when im on my mac again.

will this allow fire wire transfers? If not seems like xnjb is still the better option...

AFAIK, unfortunately there are no programs on the Mac for JB3 that access the Firewire bus :'(

usiing mac g4 stock system, which is the 10.3.9 and I just used the 1.3.3 mac jb3 software, and all worked well.
This is so cool that this is available. my jb3 has been a relic since my pc decided that it wasnt going to cooperate with my jb3 around 4th of july. I had been using it primarily as a back up device, today, I transfered the one file that I had to rely on as back up, and was able to delete many old files. it definately feels great to have the jb3 back and ready, bc the mac software is soo easy to use.
Thanks TS!
