Title: Recovering temp files in Audacity?
Post by: Patrick on October 09, 2006, 07:31:15 PM
Alright, a little update.

I found all my temp files, there are a ton of them.  I poked around and found this program called Audacity Recovery tool, installed it on my ibook g4.  I open it up and there is nothing my tons of java scripts, no way of telling the program to recover the files.  It doesn't even seem to be opening a program, just the source information, but that's the only option, really.

Please let me know if you need screen shots, that might help.

Thanks in advance.

Did you have any luck with this?
I flailed a battery swap last night and 'lost' 3/4 of set one. I have the temp files but have not idea how to 'recover' them...

No, I gave up after many different failed attempts at recovering them.  Not to say that it wouldn't work, but it didn't for me.

Good luck!

I ran the recovery tool (I'm on winblows) last night and got my music back!

It's a little odd and a poorly documented process but I managed to get straight in about half an hour.

Glad it worked for you!  Maybe the fact that I'm on a Mac has something to do with it?  Regardless, all I lost was a tedious matrix process from a crash halfway through it.  I didn't lose any music, rather just alot of time, so my situation was less dire than yours.   :)
