Title: Wavelab splice help?

I couldn't find a thread on this, so any help is greatly appreciated... I recently spliced in 30 seconds or so to the beginning of an incomplete track, using the new>audio montage feature.  The files sync fine, and then I rendered them together as a new file.  Now during playback, there is a small glitch or space when it moves from the end of this new track (1) to track 2.  The original track 1 and track 2 when played together do not have this glitch.  I stripped the headers off, etc... is there something else I need to do to this new file get rid of this gap and play seamlessly into track 2? FYI, these are 24/96 files.

Don't know about your specific problem, but I always prefer crossfades when patching source A with source B.  Perhaps crossfading will help in your situation, too.

here's what i would do.

i would copy & paste the second file, into the 'backend' of the first file. 

fade the 1st file down to zero and back up to normal for the 2nd file (i.e. cross fading - at least to me, maybe not really called that)

then you can save the entire file as one wave and go about your business.

am i getting the picture?

If you'd learn how to properly record a show, you wouldn't have this problem.  Rookies...   ::)

But seriously, I've used the Montage tool many times to patch up problem spots and have never had the glitch problem on the track boundary during playback.  Are you burning DVD-A, DVD-V, or playback directly from HD?

I hear the glitch when playing back in Foobar from my HD.  I do not hear the glitch when I play the original file with the others, so I am assuming it's because of the montage editing in Wavelab.  I also did the process twice, just to be sure, with the same results both times.

all I do is adjust levels of the other source to match (if needed) and do a simple copy and paste.

did you happen to adjust the gain on either part of the track?

actually, yes.. I think I adjusted the gain to the inserted part at the beginning before rendering the new file.  Would that be what is throwing it off?

if you would have said you adjusted the 2nd part of the track, maybe, but since the adjusted part isn't involved in the transition between tracks, I don't see why adjusting the gain of the insert would cause a problem.
