Title: Soundforge 6.0 problem
Post by: spreadheadtom on October 11, 2006, 12:12:39 PM: trying to help a buddy out here and I have no idea what the problem is....soooo, I knew you guys would come up with an answer ;D

This is all the details I have, hopefully it is enough.

transferring DAT real time into Soundforge. After the transfer the timing on the SF recording and the DAT are the same, but after saving it in SF, the recording gets sorta "stretched out" (meaning the recording is about 20 minutes LONGER than at first). After playing it, there is a definate notice in the sound, almost like you slowed down the speed of an old cassette tape.

suggestions?

DAT is at 48k...he has tried to record in SF at 44.1 and at 48. same problem

BTW the transfer is DA-20MKII > audiophile 24/96

This is making me pull what's left of my hair out. >:(

Post by: Steve J on October 11, 2006, 06:01:07 PM: I sometimes used to run into a problem with SF 6 trying to save a file at 'default' settings rather than the settings of the project. For example, I transfer from a 16/48 DAT recording with SF properly set to record; but when I go to save the recording, it uses the "Default Template" (which is 16/44.1). I had it happen a couple times to me.

Otherwise, I would suspect a sound card setting needs to be changed. I know on my Delta Dio 2496, there is a separate control panel that has to be set to the proper sample rate as well.
