I want to know were I can get a toslink right-angle to mini right-angle cable to go from my iriver to a V3. I see the a lot of people use the one they get from soundprofessionals.com. I seen some other places that people got them from but the posts on here where from like 03 and don't work any more. I want to know if there is any bater cables then the one thats comes from SP. Or dose any one know if I can get one made from kindcables. I don't see any on there page. I would be grateful for any info I can get.

I bought that cable from them a few weeks ago. Works great, shipped quickly.

That's the cable I always used, same as the SP cable but less expensive. I found it plenty reliable and robust, as long as I took reasonably good care of it. I don't know of another cable with integrated right-angle toslink and mini connectors, and I searched long and hard.
If you want/need an uber-robust cable, consider Lifatech (http://www.lifatec.com/) (only straight toslink connectors available, though):

How hard do you think it would be to make one. I have a friend that is good at making cables do you think it would be a hard cable for him to make. If you could find the parts. I have ra xlrs on my pre and how far past the xlr do you think that a toslink that is not ra would stick out. If I don't go with a ra toslink and go strate one how makes the most robust cable with the best sound.

Never done it, so...dunno.

I've since sold all my straight toslink cables, so I can't measure.

I've not seen a more robust cable than the Lifatech to which I linked previously. As for best sound - it's a digital cable, simply transmitting 0s and 1s, so one cable should not produce a "better" sound than another (with the possible exception of jitter, but I think you'd need a really kick-ass playback system to hear the difference; I know I can't hear the difference).
So you would say that the cable that is the SP cable but less expensive is my best bet.

IME, yes. I used one for a couple years with no problems, as have many others.
Thanks for all the help.

I couldnt agree more, i owned one of these and the SP version, they BOTH worked just as well, which was flawlessly
i only liked the SP version more because it was a shorter length than the cheapy i had, but like Brian said, these are rock solid :) just take extreme care w/ any optical cable.....
this is what i i use. i think they are the best upti for our use i got 2. one jb-3 jack didn;t work plugged in the new cable seemed to work perfectly.
my favorite cable.
thanks

Looks like the 1M may be history. 2M might be available, though the pic doesn't match the description. No mention of mini or 3.5mm toslink. http://www.mcminone.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=MCMProducts&product%5Fid=24%2D4345
any news about such a cable? as clivestaples says on MCMinone the pictures shows a toslink to 3.5mm cable while the description says toslink to toslink...

"
We apologize for the confusion. The photo is wrong, the description is correct. We offer an adaptor that might work, the part number is 24-6570. Please advise.

hi,
I just ordered a couple of cables but I'm not sure I ordered the right ones. I mean...the descriptions says "2M TOSLINK TO TOSLINK OPTICAL CABLE RIGHT ANGLE"
while the picture that is present above in the page shows a toslink to miniplug cable (that is what I would need)
so if this one is only a toslink to toslink I would like to cancel the order...if it's a toslink to miniplug then I confirm the order
please let me know as soon as possible
thanks
Luca"
