Title: Sony PC-62 Mic Anyone remember these?
Post by: Craise Finton Kirk on October 18, 2006, 02:26:04 AM
Does anyone remember this little mic? I used one for a few years in the mid 90s to steath shows.
But was lost through the years. It didn't need a battery box and could take high sound levels without
any distortion. I recored many metal bands with it right in front of the stacks.
My question is ...
Is there anything else like this out there? Just a little grab and go mic that is small that doesn't need a
battery box. Just wondering! thanks in advance!

I've got two of these(they came with the wm-d3).  Sony still makes a mic that looks almost exactly  like it,  I forget what it's called.  The ECM-DS70P is a similar but better mic,  but it's got trouble with loud shows overloading the mic input.  I've used one using an inline headphone volume control(turned all the way up) as an attenuator,  and it worked great(at least a bit fuller sounding than the pc-62).
