Title: Mac Book Optical Input ?

Does anybody know if the optical input on the Mac Book/Mac Book Pro is bit perfect?

I'm considering picking up that Fostex D5 in the yard sale, but would like to go straight optical in on my laptop.

Anyone?

sorry if this is a bit late. the optical input on the macbook is bit perfect. that's one of the best and easiest way to go from dat to mac using the d5.
