Title: MiniDV camera question (adding audio...)
Post by: Kevin on October 26, 2006, 02:00:40 AM
Ive having trouble connecting my mics to my camera via XLR/mini out of the minime.  I thought about using my stereo mono (RCA/mini).  Any suggestions? Also I wanted to add that I ran mini out of a headphone jack into the mic input (mini for my cam) and it was clicking.
thanks in advance for the advice

you need an attenuator cable more likely then not
the signal was clicking prob from clipping
call cascade and ask for the micmadness attenuator, cuts the signla down 20db

You need an adjustable attenuator for getting audio into a cam with AGC in order to avoid overloading the input. I make a preamp that attenuates from -00 db or off to +20 db that is the kind of gain control you need to get the audio right with a camera.
