song: Pilgrims (cut short for comp)
This is a comparison of the Marantz Oade ACM-671 and the Tascam Oade ACM HD-P2.
Both files were recorded in 24/48 using AKG c414b xls/ST (cards) on the same 8' stand ~20' ROC.
Can you tell which is which?

2 different sets of mics, each set run into it's own recording device
Ok...the first is the HD-P2 and the second is the 671. Got a 50/50 shot. 8)
Both sound good.
To my ears track 2 seems to have just a little more detail than track 1 on the other hand track 1 seems to have a little fuller of a bottom end.
EDIT:...to echo that both do sound good.

Ok I switch my answer then. :P
this should be interesting to see what everyone thinks
1. Tascam
2. Marantz
I own a P2 and had owned a 660. The 660 had a big-ass, so I bet big brother 671 has one too.

i haven't ever heard the ACM hd-p2, or the ACM 671.
but after listening to both, i'm going to guess that the first is the P2 and the 2nd if the 671.

i agree w/ this assessment. also, to be fair, i resampled/dithered track 1, since t1 was 24/48 and t2 was 16.44.1
1. hp2
2. 671
been several downloads and only a few guesses.
PM me if you want the answer.

answer ?
pm spreadheadtom. he may still have it. i deleted mine light years ago. btw, the 671 smoked it.
Mark, I just checked my PM's and spreadheadtom did tell me source 1 was in fact the HD-P2.
IMO this comp was incredibly close and it was hard to tell the difference (again, my opinion!)
sorry guys...just saw this. I do not have a copy of the comp anymore.
thanks keith !
