So, all of a sudden, without notice, whenever I play an audio file on my laptop, it sounds like it is rittled with static, skips, and digital jumps...similar to what scratched record would sound like. Doesn't matter what type of file (.wav, .shn, .flac) and it doesn't matter what playback program I use (foobar, wavelab, or the stock wav players). Any ideas what the hell is going on? I NEED to have playback on my laptop.
It's a Dell XPS140, purchased earlier this year, with XP Pro.

All of a sudden you started downloading tons of shows. ;D
Are you using the same computer and would you be doing both at the same time?
I have the same problem on my desktop from time to time...I'm thinking I need more than 512 RAM.

Actually, yes. It did start around the time I started downloading. Since then, I haven't clicked off the uploads. I bet that's it T. I'll give that a shot tonight. thanks for the hint.
