Hey all,
I've been taping with my fujitsu T70 for a few weeks now and recently I've noticed that it automatically creates a number of files during recording. One of the file will be the complete show and 5-10 other will be little pieces of the show - some are only a few seconds long. I went to thru setting a looked for a "automatic start" or "auto - when decible level.." sort of stuff but didn't see anything. Any body got any ideas?
Also - i would like to see the wave form as it records - all wavelab shows me is the levels - anyt thoughts?
I might try Cubase tonight at Pnuma Trio, but that software really confuses me.

Auto-Split enabled with a really small split time? Not sure why that would leave one big file and lot's of smaller ones, but I suppose it's worth checking.
In the Record UI is an AutoSplit checkbox... if it's enabled, check out the Properties section and in there are split parameters that define the length in time of a file or size in MB.

Yeah - thats what I thought too, but it is unchecked.
Yeah - i was looking to see if they were temp files or soemthing too - we'll see.

Isn't there some setting that tells it to stop recording when the level gets below a certain threshold?
Can't remember, as I haven't used Wavelab for recording in a long time...

Thanks. Yeah - its got setting like that - I'll double check em tonight.
I was taping last night and tried to see if I could get Cubase to work and couldn't find the "device input" setting so I could point it to record from the UA-5. The UA-5 driver is installed and it works with Wavelab. Any clue Dirk?

check the vst inputs under devices.

well - i didn't really change anything and went and taped Pnuma Trio last week - I successfully got one file out of wavelab.
Must be a glitch or operator error, i guess
thanks ya'll

Email me. I'll send you a screen shot. Should be under VST Multitrack somewhere.
