Ok folks, I've started using my AKG 481's recently and I'll be taping Primus this Wednesday. Those who are familiar with Primus know that they are very bass heavy so I was wondering if anyone else here has taped Primus with the same or similar (different caps) mics.
Currently I just run the mics at their "0" settings, no roll off or db cut but I was wondering if I should set them to the bass rolloff for Primus?
Any insight will help.
Thanks
Steve

don't roll off the bass. you will be fine. if you need to you can do it in post, but you can't put it back in.

i say go with 70
but i don't care for heavy bass nor do i like to play around in post

Just Say No to roll off

i'd say no rolloff and run XY to help minimize the bass in yo' face.

I'd only run a roll off if it is a really boomy indoor venue or an outdoor venue and it is windy.

Thanks everyone!

Just got back from the Detroit show.. Blown away!
I ran Mk4 ORTF > Aerco > 722 about 30' from the stage.. I think your 481's will be just fine.
What's bass rolloff? :P
