Title: which caps
Post by: j5brock on November 10, 2006, 11:02:31 PM
running front row balcony.. about 20 rows behind me - probably going to be a fairly loud crowd.  61s or 63s?  Planning on running DINa.. but certainly open to suggestions... thx

Not much to go on.  How are the venue acoustics?  Sound system?  Expect high SPLs from the PA, or low?  How far back is the balcony?  How high?  Size of room?  Height of stacks?  Etc.

Loud crowd - not too many rowdies at chamber music, so I'm guessing it's pretty loud show.
Balcony - sounds like a pretty small venue.

If that's all I knew about a room I'd never taped, I would probably go with the Hypers in a DINa config.  May not be the "best", but it's a good place to start.   If the acoustics are good, run cards the next time out.  If you are not familiar with how much boom you might encounter, the hypers may be a better choice for a first run.

Loud but not sreaming .. about 50' from stacks and stage.. mediocre accoustics at best.. about 12' from balcony to ceiling.. Sorry for the lack of info on the first post. Thanks for the help.
