for someone who doesnt tape much, i sure have come across my fair share of issues.
while taping wednesday, i started the R09 prior to the intro music starting, and once the music started, i did a quick check to make sure it was rolling, which it was, and i was getting proper levels. put it away and pulled it out once the first song had started. at that point i noticed that my levels were literally jumping. i wouldnt see any levels, and all of a sudden it would jump to -12 and then zero. i started checking all my cables and there were no issues at all. put it away and then checked again, but was having the same issues. then i hit the levels button to bump it up 1 notch and i started getting smooth levels.
i came home and checked and basically got nothing during that time, missing 2/3 of the first song. there is absolutely no music during that time.
anyone experience anything similar to this?
i thought it might be my power supply (nbox) but all cables were connected. the only reason i think its the R09 is that it took me changing the levels to get the problem to correct itself.
sounds like another busted input jack to me.
Did you tape down the 1/8 connection at the R09? If you didn't, that might be the culprit. It happened to me with the R1. Had drop outs every where. The next show, I taped it down, and everything was fine.
I would definatley check the line in jack, they are a common issue with the R9. I've repaired a few where the jack gets ripped right off the board. Check that first and let me know.
spyder,
i did not tape down the 1/8" jack. i can try it out at home and see what happens.
freelunch,
i still need to do some follow-up tests that i havent had the time for. the only thing that makes me think its the R09 is that adjusting all the cables didnt do anything for me, until i raised the levels on the R09.
schoepsnbox,
i'll test out the R09 at home w/ different mics/pre's and see what the culprit is.
if you guys have other ideas, please let me know. and thanks!
