Title: Ipod add-ons
Post by: bornalittlelate on November 21, 2006, 03:29:46 PM
Im a brand new taper, dont have anything yet. I was seconds from buying a Nomad Jukebox 3, but it is just too big for me, I dont want to be noticably taping. I have an ipod and would love to find a microphone add-on that is suitable to record shows I go to. Any suggestions? Or can someone suggest me a cheap, easy-to-use recorder that does not have to have a huge microphone add on, and is not the NJB3?

Just replied to you on ETREE Forums, glad you found this place.

I suggest the Edirol R09.

What's your budget for...

Mics?
Battery box / preamp?
Recorder?
Media (if necessary)?

While you will see on this site that there are many options and much gear designed for recording, since you mention the iPod, here is what has recently hit the market.

http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=277661 (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=277661)

I have no idea how it works, but I have to confess that since I travel with my iPod, I am tempted to pick one up, so if there is a good show wherever I am, I could record it.

Stick around and check out the mountains of information here though. If you are interested in recording, there is everything you need to know and more on this site. ;D

Don't have one. Never used one, but this may be the kind of thing you're looking for

I really like this Edirol r-09. I think thats gonna be the way I go, even if it is a little over budget.

or get rid of the ipod and get a rockboxed iriver h1x0 / h3x0  (h10 recording not yet working stable under rockbox)
You'll have a fine mp3/whatever player + superdeluxe recording device :)

as a bonus, you no longer need itunes crap drm software :D
