Title: Battery box for 1/8" minis - SP, MM or...?
Post by: divamum on November 27, 2006, 11:51:58 AM
Just looking at getting one for my CMC8s. Obviously there are the SP models, but I note that the ones at Mic Madness seem smaller (and are about $20 cheaper).  Anybody have recommendations or prefs (those or others)?

Oh also, I see that the SP models use either a 9v or 12v battery; the MM one usees 3 button cells. Any advantages pro or con in any direction?

Tia.

Standard 9V: bigger box, but longer battery life.  3 button cells:  the reverse, also think about cost and easy availability of replacements.

Ha!  Not a hope in hell I could manage that (this is what I get for being a girly girl and learning how to sew instead of how to solder, but at 14, who KNEW?! ;)

Update:    my CMC8 mics seem to be running on the Core's DPA "self-power" power setup (it's 9v).  I have yet to run it for more than a quick test just to see if I got a signal, but I most certainly DID get a signal and it seemed to be fine - we'll see how it goes as I test it out more extensively!
