Title: Overhead vocal mics - choral amplification
Post by: balou2 on November 29, 2006, 01:32:05 PM
My dad is looking for a pair of mics to hang over a vocal ensemble.  The mics will be used for amplification, not recording.  Group of 20-30, small theatre, on a stage.  He mentioned he was getting a pair of AKG 1000's but that doesn't seem like the best choice to me.  He said $2-300 per mic.  Thoughts?

Thanks Moke!  That is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

Just FYI, the AT853 line has been discontinued and may be a little tricky to find new, but the U853 is essentially the same mic, with some minor improvements.

Yep...found that out today.  Looks like he's going that route.
