Title: Mic attenuator for CMC-2 in MD???
Post by: Semayat on December 03, 2006, 07:55:02 AM
Hi,

 :newbie:
I'am wondering if i should buy that (http://www.soundprofessionals.com/mas_assets/full/SP-ATEN-1.jpg)  ???

I will plug a SP CMC-2 in a battery box SP SPSB-8 with bass roll off option to a sony mz-n710.
But i've read, while i was browsing a page in sound professional, that most of sony MD don't allow mic level. So my question would be :
Should I buy that attenator or not?

Thanks in advance for your help  :D

Bye

forget the atenuator
if u have the mics, the bbox, and the recorder - u have the basics - and thats all u need

just remember to go LINE IN - thats where u control your levels

micmadness is the one i got from cascademedia
the SP one i didn't care for

i only use it to go line > mic though
as stated you shouldn't really need any attenuator

what i think you are talking about is most sony mds (at least older ones) didn't allow you to change the mic levels on the fly
