Title: ext dvd a drive for laptop
Post by: georgeh on December 05, 2006, 10:29:20 AM
looking for a ext drive for hp laptop to write dvd a disc. i am thinking of making the jump to 24/96 but i didn't think of ALL the other stuff i'd need as well as the field recorder.  still trying to test my reciever to make sure a dvd a player will work with it as well as all the other things i may need to add or replace.

any external DVD burner will do the trick.  pick the cheapest, pick the most reliable, and start creating DVD-A isos!

i don't believe this to be true, I've tried reading a dvd-a disc, that works on home deck, but noton cpu drive.
the drive does play dvd's but not the dvd-a disc I was given. So is it software, i used windvd to try and play disc
thanks

you'll need dvd-a specific software to decode a dvd-a (especially a meridian lossless encoded section), but do not need dvd-a specific HARDWARE to record a dvd-a disk
