I plan on buying an Edirol R-09 in the next few days and I was wondering what the best website to buy it from would be. I'm asking this since there have been a few threads about it having problems and having the manufacturer replace/fix it so I'm wondering what website is easiest to go through and to get anything fixed if necessary. Thanks.

I see this:
22) What's a good price for the R-09? $339 http://www.bpmmusic.com/ with free shipping. However, email them for a quote or call them and buy it on the phone. It's not listed on their web page.
But are there any other recommendations?

Honestly, I don't see advantage to getting something like the R-09 from one place over another except that it's cool to give business to the retailers that support our hobby and come on here and give us information and support on products where they do have the inroads and contacts.
From what I'm hearing, anyone that's had an issue with an R-09 like the broken line-in inputs have just dealt directly with Edirol so it didn't matter where they purchased it from.
Personally, I will always give my business to one specific retailer I found here on ts.com because they really took care of me twice when I was pre-ordering the R-1 and again when I had to replace it after the first one got stolen after only owning the original less than 1 month. After I told them what happened and that I had a bunch of shows coming up, he actually sold me a new one in the box at the demo price despite the demand for them still being at a premium.

Okay, thanks. I wasn't sure if people were more dealing with Edirol itself or with the sites they bought it from.

I have the suspicion that Edirol just raised the wholesale price of the R09. Places that were charging in the $330-340 range are now charging $370+. The change may have come with the new firmware release or something.

Bad price $369 from J&R (I assume + tax and shipping)...
I got it from the link in the FAQ for $340, no tax, free shipping...
After all the nice posts about supporting local music shops, or small shops, you go and buy it from J & R????? ::)

I didn't want to use the link in the FAQ since you had to call them about it and ask and this seemed like the easiest route + I bought a record player from them a few weeks ago and I know they are reliable/ship fast and all. Most websites had the thing for 400, so I was happy to find it for 370 + 5 shipping (no tax).
