Title: Lavry DA10 - Mytek stereo96 Dac
Post by: Wiggler on December 09, 2006, 06:47:43 PM
Anyone know how these dacs would compare against a Mark Levinson 360 or a Bel canto Dac3.
I understand the lavry unit had some issues when first released such a popping noise when turned on and off and R/L outputs labeled backwards on xlr outs.
I'm in the market for a new or used Dac looking into these or a grace 902. I previously had a 901 so I am familiar with the sound of the 902.
I would really like a EMM labs /Meitner DCC2 but can't bring myself to spend that much.

the grace design from what i heave read and heard is the ideal both sonically and user friendliness. the lavry prodcuts are usually not very user friendly ( and yes i ain't no anti-lavry as i own the blue system and now my partner in crime ben-g has added 4 more ad channels)..you could go with the mytek but like i told a member here 3 years ago, buy it only if you live near mytek i.e new york. the customer service  still sucks . both lavry and grace have superior support. >:D >:D

if you look to the pic on the left..the lavry is the second rack unit after the phoenix preamp.
