Nevermind. It only took my blind-ass 3 looks to see it has an ethernet port :P

So, I'm looking at getting one of these, but am completely missing an essential facet of its purpose. How do the tracks output?
I see the 24 individual outs on the rear, but how would one transfer the tracks OFF of this? I see optical outs, for three individual sets of tracks, so does this mean I'd need an optical interface to go from the HD24 to a laptop/desktop?
I've got a ton of questions, but most of them would come by just playing with one. Any insite is appreciated.

You either use the 10-base-T ethernet port, or you drop an extra $200 for this:

Given a choice, you will want to spend the extra money on the Fireport.
Simple. Pull the drive caddy out of the Alesis, plug it into the Fireport, open the FST software and transfer via firewire.
