I've been trying to read up on old post about sector boundries. best i can tell, the best option was to dl scott brown's tool
i put the wave files in and it told me
shntool [fix]: warning: skipping first 19 files because they would not be changed
shntool [fix]: error: need two or more files to process
does this mean i am good to go??
as far as the error when saying needs more then two files
I also lost the link to a '04 post on the subject, but there is a new ver to shn tool now so not sure if the same post wors, i couldn't find the file that i was suppose to open
thanks

yep, sounds like your good to go, it will skip the files that don't have SBE's.

Yeah, what happening is this:
you have 10 files, only the last has a SBE. It skips the first 9 b/c they are fine. It gets an error on the last because it is looking to fill in the missing sectors with info from the (non-existant) 11th track. If you run LEN again, you'll see it did not fix the SBE on the last track.
If you read through the Read Me, it has the answer, but its hard to find...
Here it is: Open CDWave and hit record. Record dead air for 10 seconds and save into your SHNTOOLs folder. Next time you do a SBE fix, rename this 10sec silent file as the next track in your set. In the case of our hypothetical above, you would name this track 11.
When you then run the FIX, it skip the first 9 (as they are fine), then it will FIX the SBE at the end of the last track by taking the needed bits of data from the beginning of the silent track (track 11).
When done, you'll have a new Track 10 that says "-fixed" at the end. Copy back your untouched 9 files, and the new -fixed Track 10. Delete the old Track 10 and make sure to keep the silent "track 11" for next time.
I'm not sure but I think more current versions of SHNTOOLs removes this issue, and the SHNTOOL "fix" on Trader's Little Helper doesn't need this silent track. I've started using TLH to do my LEN and FIX.

another option is to use the flac frontend for windows to flac compress the wav files using the align on sector boundaries option. This will also automatically fix sbe issues, just be sure the tracks are loaded in playback order before instructing the flac frontend to compress the wavs.
