Title: erased Mini Disk recover possible?
Post by: chong138 on January 07, 2007, 02:32:00 PM
so I had a 70 minute show taped on an old MD. (not HI-MD)

I told my MD player to erase the whole disk.

I then recorded about 35 minutes from the start of the MD.

Is there a way to get the last 35 minutes of the old show still?

I did all that on accident because i thought I had a HI-MD in my player and went to a show last week to record it.  I erased the old show and recorded the new one.  I thought I was erasing a show that was backed up on my hard drive and recording another one.  I didn't realize that I erased my master of an old show.  I'm really gonna be bummed if there is no way to get the old show back.  It had my favorite band playing two songs that they never play.

If these links don't help you, try googling TOC cloning + your MD unit, good luck!

I just realized that when I recorded the new show on the old style disk....that it recorded in PCM...and took up the whole disk (28 minutes).  I didn't know it would still record in PCM even on old disks.  So basically I took up the whole disk and covered up all my chances of getting my old show back :(  Guess all I can do now is start checking which disk is in my MD before I go erasing stuff.
