Anyone ever seen or used one of these? I looks decent and has some good looking meters on it. Not sure how it would sound and I really don't know what the numbers all mean as far as looking at specs. Can be powered by 9v in the field though.

specs look fine. One on ebay for 519, little less from this site. Pick it up, run it, and report how it sounds ;D

Looks basically like a SD 442 but cheap!
go for it. Great for matrix's since you can kill phantom on individual channels.

me too, just can't see myself carrying 3 boxes in my rig
pattern box, ENG-44, 722 plus a buttload of cables..... but tempted.

If the pre's actually sound good on this, I might want to pick it up down the line. But like you, I'm going for less gear in my portable 2 channel.

it looks like it could be a fun toy to play with.
i wonder what the physical dimensions is. oops, never mind I would be using this in conjunction with my R-1. The price seems right too. It may be my annual Tax return gift to myself.

Pair this up with a R4 and you could do Cards+Omnis+SBD :o

It ain't no SD442 that's for sure -- there's a reason that mixer is $2K less than the SD one. Anyway, you might want to scan the more ENG-based boards, or indie-film boards like DVXUser.com for info on that b/c it gets used much more by video crews than by music recordists I bet.

stay away :-)
