i was running some tests in front of my stereo to see what was going on with the right channel of my recent recordings.
ran 461>722 as a control since i have run it many times with no problems.
i had to crank the gain on the 722 up to 55db to get the levels about where they were with the psp2. i noticed that the -3db red warning light on the left panel was flickering so i turned the gain down 1db to 54 db (i am using Linked Gain) as soon as i turned the gain down 1db to exactly 54 db the levels dropped to about -15 db or so, basically about 10-12db. i thought maybe the meters were acting weird or something but once i transferred the files i immediately noticed the waveform wasn't quite right.
ive been having various issues with my 722 recently since getting it back from V2.0 upgrade in late december. Definitely calling SD tomorrow, but I figured you'd all be interested to see this.

you mean that dip in the middle of the wav was caused by decreasing the gain by 1db on the 722..? and it hit both channels, too... something isnt right, tj - i am sorry about that. if you need to use my p2 for something while yer unit is away for servicing, just lmk...

I do know from reading the support site that when you run the gain at the max setting of 55, that there is actually a large db jump like 5-6db if I remember correctly making it around 60 or so?
That doesn't explain your issue, but just a heads up.
Are you running 2.09 software? It is known to have a TON of issues. 2.03 has been rock solid for me, although I haven't done the 2.0 hardware upgrade yet.

unit also acts up every few power ups and just freezes on a blank screen and a few other odd things now
