Hey all...just curious if anyone is familiar with the Marantz PMD-660 in conjunction with a Dmod UA-5?
Specifically...I am curious if running my Mics > XLR > dmod UA-5 > SPDIF > PMD-660 would sound better than just running Mics > XLR > PMD-660?
Any ideas?
Also, those of you that have the PMD-660 how do you like them and do they do 24-bit recording too or just 16?
Thanks!
Ryan

the 660 just does 16bit. if you run the Oade ACM660 you'll need no ua-5, trust me. if it's a stock 660 then run the ua-5 into the 660 via the xlrs. hope this helps!

If I'm running my mics into the ua-5 then wouldn't I run the SPDIF out of the ua-5 into the 660?

pretty sure there is no digi in on the 660. You could however run an outboard pre>xlr in.

I actually meant the 670...sorry about that. I think the 670 has a SPDIF In and Out Doesn't it?
