Any opinions on either one?

only 44.1 in cdwave. it is fine for that.
you almost have to have a wave editor for fades, sample rates and removing undesireable elements.
If you're just transferring a 44.1 kHz DAT to HD, either should be fine. I wouldn't resample or do any processing using CD-Wave, though.
Are there known flaws in doing 48 in cdwave?

not sure about the 48, but you will have no problems at with soundforge, id be hesitant using cdwave to do anything other than splitting up already transfered wavs, as i am a diehard SF user and i think im gonna take the 99 dollar upgrade to sf7
