Title: dvd burner options
Post by: saxophoner on February 07, 2007, 05:28:06 PM
4I've heard about hard drives failing and I don't want to lose all the music I have.  Wondering if there is a certain burner I should stay away from, any specific one people like alot?  I want to stay $100-$150's.  Needs to plug via firewire/usb external for my ibook.

Maybe look into something like this...

Enclosure $52.99:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817145152

DVD Burner $29.99:
black: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152076
beige: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152075

Just my 2 cents

whatever drive you choose, its usually media compatability issue that crops up most rather than constatnt failing. Always burn low speeds and verify after burn (nero has it).
