Title: R-09/CS-15
Post by: twoheadedboy on February 14, 2007, 06:46:13 AM
Edirol has this cardiod mic on their site: http://www.edirol.net/products/en/CS-15/

Anyone know if it's decent? I'm not looking for Neumann or anything, but an external mic that can be powered by the deck interests me for a lot of uses. Looks like it runs about $120 at most places I've checked, not too bad.

I just posted a review of some Binaural mics that work incredibly well with the R-09 and blow away the internal ones...

I don't need binaural mics, I already have Sonic Studios.

I'm interested in this mic in particular as the dec powers it and it's a handheld cardiod. I don't need information on anything else, thanks.

Yo, I have a the edirol R-09 and just got the CS-15 edirol mic. I fit it on a 10' light pole from BH. I had to get a five foot cord extension from radio shack cause the mic comes with only about 6' attached. I can't believe the recording I got this past weekend. Taped an Anat Cohen show in a park in Raleigh, NC. My brother and I can't believe the recording that we got. No hiss and a perfect cardioid heart shaped recording in stereo. I just bought a monster cable splitter so that I can get another CS-15 for my rig. Don't believe you need to spend a ton on mics anymore. The R-09 powers this mic also. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/437115-REG/Edirol_Roland_CS_15_CS_15_Stereo_Microphone.html
