I got the new "slimmer" ra Neutrik XLR's shipped to me today. They fit the 722 with room to spare. If this is old news...sorry, I just thought I'd pass it along. :)

Excellent!! I was just looking yesterday to see if these were available yet. Looked like the RA females were available, but not the RA males (which is of course what I'm most interested in).
It sounds like they only have 5 different cable exit options, not the 7 of the previous neutrik RAs. Could you let me know what they are?
Something like:
__ __ when the top tab of the XLR connector you're pluging into is facing up ^
/ | \
Or is it like:
|
__\
/
| when the top tab of the XLR connector you're plugging into is facing up ^
Not sure if that makes any sense, but I'm trying to figure out if the available exit angles are at 9:00, 7:30, 6:00, 4:30, and 3:00 or if the available exit angles are at 12:00, 10:30, 9:00, 7:30, and 6:00
Anyway, cool they're starting to come out. Let me know what you can about what the available cable exit angles are. Trying to plan ahead for my new 722. :)

Todd R: The top one looks right. And yes, it looks like just 5 options.
Sanjay: If you, or somebody, who could post pics easily, want to pm an addy to me, I'll be glad to e-mail a few pics.
-
Bean: E-mail sent. I tried to get a close-up of the inside but it didn't come out very clear. Sorry about that.

these are a nice addition to the neutrik lineup but still not a lowpro as the hacked NC3MX/NC3FX that some are making. I hacked some for myself and the function like the like ED's or any of the other guys that are making but they look kinda ghetto.
I see these interfering w/ a 722 in a portabrace unless you can do away w/ the boot and fill them w/ epoxy.
Can someone post some pics of a dis-assembled connector?

I got a batch yesterday of the new ones (male and female). Looks like they copied the Hosa style. No screws..which is a good thing. Not sure i'm in love w/them yet though.

Anyone have pics? I am in need of some new cables for my 722 these sound like a good choice.
Thanks
Jason

But they do not have the side clearence issues when plugging into a sound devices pre/recorder or a snake. It also looks like they may not be as big of bitch to assemble.

they are slimmer...but no smaller.
