Howdy.
How would you evaluate a pair of AKG C 391 B that you purchased on the internet. I read somewhere that the only reasonable way to evaluate them is to send them back to the maker for testing.
Any thoughts?
What would a set of these be worth used?
Thanks.

As far as purchasing goes, I bought mine for $400 here used in I'd say august and they were in great condition.

400-450 used is pretty common around here

Just a heads up, if you do end up picking up a set of 391's, BayTaynt3d has a set of 93 caps that he's been trying to sell for a while...
I have no connection to the seller, just know that he's been selling them a while now and that if I had a set of 391's I'd probably be all over em... HYPERS!!!
And as for BayTaynt3d, I've never had any transactions with him, so I can't personally vouch for him, but I'm sure that there's plenty of folks around here that can... He's been around here for a quite while and always seems to be a stand-up guy...
Here's the link to his sale:

Ebay and patience can have a pair for under 300. Those things are always up there and i have paid for my 391's
$76
$128
$140ish
$49 (yes...the beat to hell one...but it works and sounds just the same as the others)
good luck

How do you evaluate them? You plug 'em in, record something, and listen! :)
And yeah, buy my hyper caps, heh... (I've bought plenty in the YS, so no worries on that dept.)
