Title: Command line resample shootout
Post by: pigiron on February 25, 2007, 03:06:54 PM

Preface: Some of these run on Windoze... all on Linux... (compile on the Mac??)... and hoping that this topic isn't old news.

Being a linux command line freak, I was using AFsp to resample my audio files until I ran across this old comparison web page:

     http://www.mainly.me.uk/resampling/index.html (http://www.mainly.me.uk/resampling/index.html)

So now I've shifted to ssrc... the algorithm seems to be included in other audio software... and as the page shows, the resample time isn't too bad... Windoze executables included in the download, but you'll have to figure out how to extract it from the tarball  :-\

I quickly found out that ssrc  doesn't like Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) headers though... attached a patch to handle that also... but be aware that the results will have a "regular" wave file header (i.e. you'll lose the BWF info).

Also... since I only have two channels, not sure if any of these programs will handle more.
