Title: recording Mic->Macbook, possible?
Post by: Depechemode1993 on March 10, 2007, 09:28:41 PM
I just wanted to test this out at a open taping gig this next weekend. Can I run my DPA 4060 straight into my Macbook soundcard? I would just run DPA -> BB-> 1/8 connector into my line in. Or would it be to loud to run it and even if I adjust the recording level? any advice would be appreciated. thanks guys.

I would think you would need some sort of pre-amp. I don't think 406x + BB will give a good enough level. Maybe, though. I guess I don't use much gain on my MMA6000 with the 4060's, so maybe it would work.

I've had good luck taping with the MacBook. So that part should be okay. I have taped 4060>MMA6000>MacBook with decent results.

mike thanks for the info! +T. is there anyway I could hear a clip of it? Or I could even rock my ol' ECM-717.

Hi guys.
Just goy my Macbook with one SP-BMC-2 (Binaural) and SP-SPSB-8 (Battery)
Well, I can record with cool results on my Macbook.
I'm using Audacity.

My question is: Have some configuration or something that I can record with my macbook closed?

I try record with audacity anc close, but the record Stop.

Any help?

Thanks

There are a few shareware programs that allow this but they all warn you that you could fry your Mac doing that so the answer id NO don't do it.  you can always turn your screen off- I hope it helps

Ryan - that is a perfect combination and produces very clean audio. I have used the same set up with boomrecorder and made commercial CDs from the resulting files

Good luck
