Title: SHOW US YOUR MIC SHRINE :)
Post by: Church-Audio on March 20, 2007, 08:53:05 PM
Here is my little microphone shrine I have a few other mics that did not make it in the picture. These mics are from a new company I am doing some consulting with.

I have a AMI L87 condenser mic with a 1 inch gold diaphragm. Next is a AMI FT56 three pattern tube mic + 6 in between patterns with a 1.3 inch diaphragm and 12axtb tube. Next is a pair of AMI L18 condenser mics with omni and cardioid caps. And last but not least is a AMI F33 three pattern condenser mic with 1.3 inch diaphragm. Lets see some more mics...

What's the story on these AMI mics Chris?  The only thing I can find of them is on eBay and the prices make me curious.

They are some of the best sounding mics I have ever heard at this price range.. If you get past the bad English and horrible pictures they are great mics. And in the end that's all that matters. :) I like the F33 and the L18 mics they sound very good. The tube mics are great as well. I like them I have lots of studio projects mics and other more high end mics and I like these mics. I am not just saying that because I have some or because I did some consulting work for them. I got some of these mics for free. But knowing what I know now, I would have paid for all of them. They are not cheap junk. I have opened them up and they are using good quality caps and resistors and most importantly good quality capsules. And most of these mics have a transformer coupled output I find gives them a nice warm tone.

I think you should share some of those mics with the rest of us stirin ;) I'd like to share my mic shrine but it would only be maybe 100x100 pixels at the moment ;D
