Title: iRiver H120 Newbie
Post by: cgresq192 on March 21, 2007, 01:37:05 PM

I've already read the FAQ about the Iriver.

I just recieved a used h120

I am looking to find out what rockbox version I should be installing? Also does the current build of rockbox include the REP? Recording enhancement Pack? Should these be 2 seperate installs?

Any help is greatly appreciated

First you need to install the bootloader which allows loading of rockbox and original firmware. See the rockbox.org wiki and manual (you should read that too ;) )

Then you can either unzip the REP or the latest build from rockbox.org (for h1x0!), and also the fontpack.

have fun!

Arni99-
Do you know if the build you linked to has enabled support for the RTC mod?

I downloaded a current build like a week ago...so how do i know if the REP was included?  It has a bunch of recording setting, etc.  So I think i have it.  Are there specific features to REP...if so can someone list a couple of them so I can double check mine.

The REP is not included in a standard daily build.  It is a patch you have to install seperately.
If you install the build in the link that Arni99 posted, it will be a customized build that includes the REP patch.

cg- I am using a 9/12/06 build with REP from mmmmm are you using the one listed above from arni? Mine seems very stable and the only freeze I've experience is when scrolling through a big .wav file. Might like to update but I hate to give up on a sturdy build.

Yes, I'd like a known stable build, vs a newer one, which may or may not be as stable.

as i won´t do the clock-mod on my h140 I didn´t really investigate this topic ;).

my build+rep of the linked site is from one of the developers who also records a lot and is a guitar player himself.
i tested this February 17th 2007 build and all was fine...recorded several shows in PCM 16bit/44,1kHz with this build yet.
using a peakmeter size of 2(custom recording settings in the REP) and the proper font, the recording screen´s letters become a lot bigger than with the standard setting where its hard to read because the letters are extremely small sized.

you will realize the link has been updated and shows the 20070228 version now ;)!
