Title: MBHO 603 Power consumption
Post by: bayouav on March 26, 2007, 04:56:09 PM
Howdy folks! I'm running MBHO603 actives with a Deneke PS-2 phantom unit. Any idea how I can figure my power consumption for the mics. I'm trying to build battery packs that will power the PS-2 for a long time. I've got 9V RC batteries already and need to figure out consumption before deciding what to build. thanks for your input.

4.5mA according to the spec sheet.  I do not know what this translates into PS2 runtime tough

PS-2 specs:

Quote
Current from 3mA to 280 mA depending on the mic.

Most mics range from 2mA to 10 mA.  However, there's additional draw due to stepping up the voltage, so MBHO's at 4.5 mA doesn't mean the PS-2 actually draws 4.5 mA.  Best bet, IMO:  test in a controlled environment to determine your actual draw and likely run-time.
