I got a microtrack to record with and i want to record an upcoming tool concert in tampa. I have only been to one concert (incubus) in my life except for orchestras and stuff, and all i remember them doing was checking peoples purses and not allowing water bottles. Do these places typically do metal detection, and if so, will it pick up a concealed microtrack? If i get the recorder through and they see me holding it up during a concert, will they come after me?

won't speak to any of your other questions, but... yeah, if they see you holding it up during a concert, they will come after you. that much i can say for sure.

I guess you should go into a stealth-mode... Hide your recorder/mics or wathever and pray for the tape to come out great

you may want to think about some mics OTHER than the supplied Tmic. and do a little research on the whole 'stealth recording' concept.

The Sundome uses metal detectors. Its been a few years since I've been there but everytime they had the wands.
You should read up on how insane the security will be for Tool...they have guys walking around specifically looking for people tapiing and taking pics. Shoot me a PM after the show and I'll send you a copy of my tape.

Ok, so then can anyone tell me if the metal detectors pick up on the presence of a microtrack?

Ive never used a MT or even held one but id assume that most of it is plastic so it shouldn't be an issue. Just stuff your gear down by your nuts and no one will ask you to take your pants off....if they ask tell them its your cock ring. The old blue hairs should get a kick out of that.
