Title: ? about gain

My set up includes a Church mic and preamp (St20B) and JB3.  I've not recorded a show yet. On the preamp, my gain options are +30 0 -30.  I've read that I shoud steer away from the iternal gain in the JB3, so to record a loud rock/funk show, should I set the preamp gain to +30?

+30 will be too much for a loud rock show.  Use the 0.
