Title: Headphone Listening
Post by: Jammin72 on April 10, 2007, 10:12:48 PM
OK so aside from the obvious binaural style of recording does anyone have any experience with which stereo techniques lend themselves to headphone playback?

I've decided to give my next door neighbor a break from the floor shaking at 4AM and have a pair of Sennheiser 580's on the way to do some listening.

I find that my x/y pulls sound particularly good on headphones, I think the coincident pattern cuts down on phasing issues which can really be aparent on headphones.

OSS/Jecklin does quite well.    Mid-side/single point stereo mics are good, too.  8)
