Title: Help with Uninstalling old DVD writer before replacing it
Post by: Kush on April 15, 2007, 10:52:38 PM
Recently my Lite-On 1633S (?) DVD writer has crapped out and I am going to install a new drive when it arrives later in the week. I read that I should uninstall the old drive before replacing it. I'm running XP. I've figured out to right click my computer, select properties, Hardware, Device mamager, and uninstall the old dvd writer. I'm going to be using the same burning software I already have on my computer. Is there anything else I need to or should do before installing the new drive? Thanks for any help you can provide.

no reason to do that.  just replace the drive and your computer will install the new hardware/drive.
