OK...i finally got sound forge working....The DAT i have is a tcd-d100....ive got a Audiophile usb  and have sound forge....i cant get anything done past there....i think i am getting the audio to my computer but its just aot of noise...do  i run a mono cable into the usb?? whhat are my settings on soundforge??  thanks alot!

do you have a digital input to the audiophile?  just curious
make sure that the audiophile is installed correctly and that the correct audio device is selected in sound forge options

Yes, it most certainly does.  You need to read your manual, set it up properly, configure everything within windows, and then let uis know how it goes.  If you can't figure it out, ask specific questions and we could be more helpful.  For starters, hook up the coax out of your dat to the coax in of your soundcard.  Mayke sure that the audiophile is the preferred device within windows and all of your applications which you want to use it with.

yes i do have a digital input and the audiophile is set into soundforge...i think i just dont konw what im doing from there...do you know what comes next??

24andbored...ive got it all hooked up....i made it the preferred device but i could not get any sound out of the computer....what would that mean? so i had to change back to the other one and it just made this terrible noise...

open the record dialog, set the proper bit rate, sample rate, and (i assume) stereo properties for the file, start your deck and see if you get levels (click the monitor box), then hit record

I figured it out....it was a stupid mistake....thanks alot for all the help and for putting up with me....i got alot more replies on this board than others...thanks again
